Biography of Antonella Raio

Art allows me to focus on the other, illuminating what is normally silent. For me, the use of technology is not an end, but a means which does not surpase the work, but which offers it other possibilities. 

Each of my sculptures stems from a performative action that aims to bring others closer together.

Before starting a work i try to analyze some aspects of people’s lives that i would like to highlight with my sculptures.

Through small “approach actions” i am able to catapult myself into would never have experienced.

these performative actions are transformed into photographic, audio and video materials.

Each sound, video, photo, rapresents an encounter, which will later become the living part of my sculptures.

working on the other i often find myself analyzing themes related to the “sacred”, which i repurpose as the first form of the creative.

In recent years my artistic research has found in nature not onluy experimental concepts, but also the very material of my sculptures.
